The Arkle Wool Jacket: Built to Be Worn, Not Saved for Best
The Arkle. A wool jacket that sits well over a flannel, cut with room to move and finished with the details that make a jacket dependable for years: horn-effect buttons, two buttoned chest pockets, zipped hand pockets, a contrast inner collar.
Most wool jackets are made to be looked after. Kept for the right occasion, brushed down, returned to the wardrobe. The Arkle is made the other way. It is the jacket you reach for without thinking, worn over a Brae Flannel on a cold morning, thrown on for the school run, kept on at the fire. Worn in, not worn out.
It is made from our own Tech Wool, the fabric we spent two years developing for the Torr Wool Gilet. The blend is mostly wool, with synthetic fibres added only where they earn their place: durability and shape retention. Warmth, comfort, and years of use.
The Details That Matter
Raglan sleeves for movement. A collar that stands against the wind and sits flat when it does not need to. Buttoned chest pockets that hold what you actually carry. Zipped hand pockets, so nothing falls out when you lean over a gate.
The cuffs adjust with a button. The hem sits at the hip, long enough to cover a flannel underneath, short enough to move in. Every fastening is chosen to be repaired rather than replaced.
On the wettest days it sits under a shell. The rest of the time, it is the jacket.

The Arkle was cut to sit over a Brae Flannel or Munro Shirt without bunching at the shoulder. The two together cover most of the year: flannel alone until the first cold morning, jacket over it from then on.
For the coldest weeks, the Torr Wool Gilet goes between the two. Flannel, gilet, Arkle. Three layers, one wardrobe, every kind of outside.
